Mechanical and body shop technicians are required to complete several hours of technical training per year. To keep up with today’s complicated systems and changing technology, most technicians far exceed the minimum training requirements. We pay the cost of training for all our employees. ASE Training and Certification
ASE is the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, an independent, non-profit organization. Since 1972 they have worked to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service by testing and certifying automotive professionals. To qualify for certification, technicians must pass the certification test and have two years of on-the-job training or one year of on-the-job training and a two-year degree in automotive repair. Technicians must also re-test every 5 years to maintain certification. Over 80% of Custom Greg’s employees are ASE certified.
I-CAR Training
I-CAR is an independent, nonprofit organization formed in 1979 by the collision industry. All I-CAR activities focus on helping the industry achieve a high level of technical training. I-CAR’s ultimate goal is that every person in the collision industry has the technical knowledge and skills relevant to their position to achieve a complete and safe repair. Most collision technicians at Custom Greg’s have taken several I-CAR courses.
