ASE Training
Training is an ongoing process at Custom Greg’s Inc. Collision repair. Mechanical and body shop technicians are required to complete several hours of  technical training per year.  To keep up with today’s complicated systems and changing technology most technicians far exceed this training minimum.  Custom Greg’s Inc. pays for the cost of the training for all employees.

Greg Jeffers the company’s president and manager has the (ASE) certification in body repair and paint refinishing.

I-CAR Gold Trained Shop

I-CAR is an independent nonprofit organization formed in 1979 by the collision industry. All I-CAR activities focus on helping the industry achieve a high level of technical training. I-CAR’s ultimate goal is that every person in the collision industry has the technical knowledge and skills relevant to their position to achieve a complete and safe repair. All collision technicians at Custom Greg’s Inc. have been I-CAR trained.

Our body repair technicians are encouraged to achieve and maintain Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) Gold or Platinum Individual Status.  I-CAR is a nonprofit organization that is focused on helping the body repair industry to achieve a high level of training.  Achieving I-CAR Gold Class is very high honor for any shop.

Each employee at Custom Greg’s Inc. must complete their position point requirement, they each have earned at least 5 Gold Class points. For a business to initially qualify for the Gold Class Professionals designation, all employees must have earned 5 tested points. Maintaining the Gold Class Professionals designation requires 2 points of ongoing training annually. Custom Greg’s Inc. has been the only shop in this area to ever obtain Gold Class Status. We first qualified as a business in 1996 and every year following until 2001. Since then I-CAR has included apprentices and helpers into their requirements. Since those changes we have employed and trained several technician helpers and apprentices, we have also provided jobs that were not related to the collision repair process. We no longer apply each year for the Gold Class Shop recognition since all employees must be included not just the collision repair professionals, We offer multiple service here, this helps us provide good job opportunities in other areas such as our paint store, car sales, retail sales and the accessory sides of our business.

Here at Custom Greg’s every collision technician involved in the repair of your vehicle receives up to date I-CAR training yearly and most are within a couple points of being Platinum. We also provide training thru manufactures such as DuPont, Chief, 3M, Fusor, Hunter, etc. to provide the best trained technicians possible.
