FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
8. Do you have rental cars available?
Yes, through our repair facility as a courtesy to our customers.
9. Will my car look the same after repairs?
We take pride in repairing vehicles to as good-as or better than before the accident occurred. All repairs will meet or exceed the manufacturer’s specifications and all our workmanship is backed by a lifetime warranty. Parts and materials are based on the manufacturer’s warranty period.10. Does Custom Greg’s have a lot of employee turnover?
Our turnover rate is very small for our collision specialists; although we put a lot of time and money into training people for this industry. They must work at least 5 years before the reach master technician status. Our newest master collision technician has been with us for over 6 years. Some of our master technicians have been with us for over 22 years.11. Somebody told me that most cars don’t have frames, is this true?
Yes, most cars have a unibody structure which requires special repair techniques. It is extremely important to have your unibody vehicle repaired properly. Improper repair techniques can be a serious safety hazard and may not align correctly. Our technicians receive advanced training on a continual basis in unibody repair, so you can rest assured that your vehicle is repaired to the highest industry standard.
12. If my vehicle has frame damage, is it a total loss?
No. A car is a total loss when the cost of repairs exceeds a certain percentage (usually 70%-75%) of the value of your car. With the invention of three-dimensional computerized measuring systems, frame damage no longer means the demise of a vehicle. A properly trained technician utilizing this state of the art equipment can accurately return your vehicle to factory specifications and tolerances.
13. What about after-market or "replacement quality" parts?
Parts that are a copy of the original manufacture, they may also be referred to as aftermarket. Not all parts are manufactured by the Cars brand name, such as some glass, suspension, hoses, mechanical parts, etc. However most all body and structure parts are developed, tested and proven by the OEM manufacture.
Original equipment manufacturers (OEM) parts made by the manufacturer of your car are generally better quality, better fitting, and have better corrosion protection capabilities. Depending on the age and condition of your vehicle, there may be some sound economic reasons to use after-market parts in the repair even A/M sheet metal and body panels have their place.
The decision should always be yours; however, many insurance policies are being rewritten to give the insurance company the sole right to make this economic decision and may not pay the price difference between A/M and OEM. Make sure you know the terms of your policy in this area.
14. What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept properly signed insurance checks, cash, certified checks, credit cards and debit cards.
Please note: If the check is made out to you and a finance company, it is your responsibility to have them endorse the check or have your insurance company change the endorsement so there is no delay in the pickup of your vehicle.
15. What are betterment charges?
Parts that wear out and need replacement with time and use (i.e., tires, batteries, brakes, etc.) are commonly subject to betterment charges when they are replaced during the repair process. These betterment charges are determined by your insurance company and are pro-rated based on actual miles on your vehicle. Different insurance companies have different policies.
